Cathy Louise (Meyer) Stewart, 52, of Katy, Texas was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 14, 2012. Cathy was born on October 16, 1959, in Vandalia, Illinois to Willard and Norma Meyer. As the youngest of four children, Cathy always enjoyed reading, playing with her cats, being with her best friend, and spending time with her older siblings and cousins.

Cathy was baptized on November 8, 1959, and confirmed on May 6, 1973. Cathy was a graduate of Vandalia Community High School, Class of 1977. After high school, Cathy went on to get a Bachelor of Science Degree at Northern Illinois University, and graduated in August 1981. After college, Cathy enjoyed a career as a Lab Technician in Illinois and then relocated to Houston in 1983.

Cathy married Joe Stewart in May 1985. Together, they raised their children in Katy, Texas. Cathy was a devoted and proud mother of three, who loved cheering on the Katy Tigers, collecting kitchen gadgets, having movie night with the girls, trying things a little different than the rest, and spending time with her family near and far. In a new and exciting move for Cathy, she took ownership of the Katy Cleaners in 2005.

Cathy is survived by her three children, Brandon (23), Rachael (20), and Travis (18); her sister, Nancy (and husband Dan) Schaub of Tomball, Texas; her sister, Sandy (and husband Charlie) Tackett of Mechanicsburg, Illinois; her brother, Dan (and wife Cindy) Meyer of Shobiner, Illinois; several nieces and nephews; and close friends. She was greeted in heaven by her parents, Willard and Norma Meyer.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 17, 2012, at the Memorial Lutheran Church, in Katy, where funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. John F. Davis, Jr. officiating. Interment in Katy Magnolia Cemetery.

Those wishing to make memorial gifts may do so to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 570127, Houston, TX 77257.
